Whether you are a long-time resident of our community or a newcomer to the area, we are excited for you to join us. We have several different interest groups to appeal to a wide variety of members. Please let us know if you’d like to start a group focusing on your favorite interests.
The Ladies of Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College sponsors a playgroup for members of LND/SMC with young children. The playgroup meets almost every week at various locations either on campus or around town. We invite mothers to join us with their children as we gather on campus, in members’ homes, and around the community. Expectant mothers and grandmothers are welcome too!
We meet once a month in the evening to learn about food from varying cultures. Members are asked to volunteer for two committees where they will plan and cook the meal for those attending at the hostess’ home. This leads to creative foods as well as an entertaining evening out. One meeting per year is planned with couples. Dues for Creative Cooking is $30 which covers expenses for the year except for the couple’s evening.
Started in 1964 as a Great Books discussion group, following the study method of Mortimer Adler’s Great Books Foundation, the Evening Literature group continues today reading classic world literature during the academic year and contemporary books in the summer. There is also a Morning Literature Group which chooses selections from current fiction, non-fiction or biography.
Hiking, exploring and day long trips into the outdoors are a few of the many activities this group engages in. Join us for some fun filled adventures.
We explore how a diet high in plant foods is beneficial to the health of the members, their families, and the world in general.
Keep your mind sharp! Learn to play Duplicate Bridge. Typically, this group meets on Tuesdays evenings throughout the year.
